Southeast Asian pro baseball club finds field of dreams — in Japan

SAGA, Japan — A professional baseball club stocked with Southeast Asian players, who make up around 70% of the team, has taken the field, competing in an independent league on the southwestern Japanese island of Kyushu.

The Saga Indonesia Dreams, based in Saga prefecture in northern Kyushu, is a unique team consisting mainly of top players from Southeast and South Asia, including members of the Indonesian national baseball team.
