Maldives ex-minister calls out President Muizzu’s ‘lies’ about Indian troops

NEW DELHI: Abdulla Shahid, the former Maldivian foreign minister, claimed on Saturday that President Mohamed Muizzu’s assertion about ‘thousands of Indian military personnel’ stationed in Maldives was another ‘string of lies’.

Shahid, the newly elected president of the Maldivian Democratic Party, said there is no deployment of armed foreign soldiers in the island country.
